Rare Letter From the Chabad Rebbe During His First Year of Leadership, to the Admor of Stropkov. Brooklyn, the 23th of Elul, 1951. Rare
Letter sent by the Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, to the Admor of Stropkov, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Lifshitz-Halberstam, on the 23th of Elul 5711 [1951] - six months subsequent to the Lubavitcher Rebbe's accession to leadership on the 10th of Shevat, 5711.
Specifications: [1] leaf, thin official paper, bearing the Rebbe's name without indication that he was an Admor. 21x28 cm. Typewritten letter with his signature.
Contents: The Rebbe writes to the Admor of Stropkov that he enjoyed receiving his letter describing the collective situation and the awareness aroused by the upcoming shemmitah year. Then the Lubavitcher Rebbe extends the blessing, "And may this coming year be a year of redemption and salvation, the true redemption by Moshiach Tzidkeinu."
Interesting detail: The letter was sent to the Chabad Rebbe on the 17th of Elul, and 6 days later, on the 23rd of Elul, the Rebbe immediately replied. Letters from the Rebbe during his first year of leadership are extremely rare.
Condition: Filing holes, aging stains, folds and small tears on leaf's circumference. Fine condition.
