Meitiv Safah. Selichot for the High Holidays with Yiddish translation and expansive elucidation by Rabbi Refael Fürstenthal. Breslau, 1823. First edition, parts I-II, separate title page for each section.

Expansive elucidation on the High Holidays liturgy, from the first day of selichot, includes all the selichot said on Yom Kippur according to various customs.

Besides the expansive elucidation, the book before us contains important selichot customs, a detailed index, and additional selichot according to different customs. The title page bears the owner's inscription.

Rabbi Raphael Fürstenthal was born in Glogow of Lower Silesia, Poland, in 1781, and passed away in Breslau in 1855. He translated and elucidated The Guide for the Perplexed and Chovat HaLevavot into German, and compiled other books. 

16, 627 pages. Detached front binding and spine, lacking back binding. Detached leaves at the beginning of selichot. Stains. Moderate-fine condition.
