Long Letter from Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam of Dukla and His Brother-in-law Rabbi Yona Rubin of Vizhnitz
A long letter written in 1921, handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam of Dukla with a marginal note by his brother-in-law, Rabbi Yona Rubin of Vizhnitz.
Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam (1813 - 1898) was the son and successor of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Frysztak and Av Beis Din of Dukla. He was a holy saint and avid fighter against the Zionist movement. He was murdered by the Nazis on Shushan Purim after refusing to shave his beard and fighting that they not burn his sefer Torah and sefarim.
Rabbi Yona Rubin of Vizhnitz was the son of Rabbi Naftali Rubin of Vizhnitz, son-in-law of the Shinover.
