Chamishah Chumshei Torah. Amsterdam, Printed by Hertz Levi Rofei and his Son-In-Law, 1757. Rare
Chamishah Chumshei Torah and the five megillot with Rashi's commentary, and haftarot according to the communities' custom. Amsterdam, printed by Hertz Levi Rofei and his son-in-law, 1757. Rare book.
Specifications: 402 leaves. Additional title page for haftarot. 13 cm.
Chumash with Rashi. Sections beginning with Rashi printed in block script, and verses mentioned in Rashi are enumerated along the pages' sides. The portions for festivals are marked on the margins of the corresponding pages.
Unique Features: Rare chumash. A similar chumash was recorded in the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book no. 000304685, however the number of pages differs, and there is a new page count for part of the haftarot section. In the chumash before us, the page count excludes the haftarot title page[preceding leaf 350] and continues from the following leaf. This chumash appears to have been recorded in the Treasury of Hebrew Books, 32961, according to a copy photographed in the National Library.
Condition: Fine. Minimal aging stains. Simple binding.
