A composition about Yiddish theater in Romania and Eastern Europe. The author, a theater critic, mentions in the introduction that Romania is the cradle of Yiddish theater. The composition includes a number of illustrations and photographs. On the front cover appears an illustration in blue and red – an image from the play "Kishuf makherin" ("the witch") by Avraham Goldfaden (illustrator: M. Friedman).
