Philo of Alexandria (also known by his Jewish name – Yedidia), was a Hellenist Jew who lived in Egypt. He primarily discussed the tenets of Jewish beliefs to prove that Judaism predated Greek philosophy, and every valuable piece of philosophy stems from the Torah. Most of his writings were lost over time.
