The author, Rabbi Yehudah Aryeh of Modena [1571-1648] was among the great scholars of Italy, rabbi of Venice and Florence. Conducted disputes with the Christians on the truths of religion. His composition against kabbalistic wisdom raised tremendous opposition to his ways and harsh criticism of his methods among the great scholars.
