Torat Chacham. Salonika, [1848]. First Edition
Kabbalistic composition discussing Rabbi Chaim Vital's words by Rabbi Chaim de la Rosa. Salonika, [1848]. First edition.
One of the fundamental works of the Rashash's kabbala. Prayer by the Rashash to be said before nightfall on the last page ['in order not to leave this page blank, we saw fit to print this prayer by the holy rabbi, the Rashash, Z"L']. The author, Rabbi Chaim de la Rosa, was a primary disciple of Rabbi Shalom Sharabi's (the Rashash). He was among the scholars of Salonika, immigrated to Jerusalem, and studied with his teacher, the Rashash.
Before his passing, he asked his students to implement the four executions carried out by Beit Din on him after his passing, as is the custom of kabbalists. His students dared not, due to their respect for him, and conducted the funeral without fulfilling his request. During the funeral, a group of Arabs attacked them, snatched the body, cast it down with disrespect and stoned it. The students were greatly distressed at the disgrace of their rabbi until he appeared to one of the students in a dream and told him that he was happy that his will had been implemented. He is buried in the kabbalists' section on the Mount of Olives.
