Rare publication not found in the National Library.

Shmuel Kretschmer [1891-1972] was born in Poland. He moved to Palestine in 1912 and settled in Jerusalem. He was accepted to Bezalel where he studied painting and started working as an engraver in the school. He opened a store called "The Stamp Workshop" in Jerusalem in 1913. In 1920, at the end of the war, Kretschmer established an art workshop on Yaffo Street for stamps and engravings called "Pituach." The financial crisis in the country forced Kretschmer to move to Vienna where he was in touch with Boris Schatz. In 1933, he returned to Palestine with the assistance of Rabbi Kook and he immediately opened the Kretschmer & Sons workshop.
