Silver Pendant - "Palestine Football Cup," 1930. Souvenir of the Victory of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Palestine Football Cup
"Palestine Football Cup" [Soccer]. Silver pendant [hallmarked] issued to mark the victory of Maccabi Tel Aviv. Engraved on the back of the pendant: "Winners 1930" and the maker's name "Thomas Fattorin" and silver hallmarks.
1930 was the third season of the national soccer competition of the Palestine Football Association. The final game of the season was between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Britain. It ended at 1-2 for Maccabi Tel Aviv and the team won the Palestine Football Cup. This was the second time that this team won the cup. It won its first cup in 1928.
The Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer team is the oldest department of the "Maccabi" organization. It started playing at the start of the 20th century. The first photo documentary of the team was a team photo in 1913. Between 1928 and 1950 it won the championship six times.
