Pkudat Elazar ,part two- Jerusalem, 1887, first adition.
Pkudat Elazar , Part Two. On the Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim, by Rabbi Refael Elazar Halevi ben Tovo.
First edition Jerusalem, 1892.
Condition; Very Good, few stains of time, slightly loose on spine, last leaf of fursz is detached.
Rabbi Raphael Elazar Halevi ben Tovu (1825-1885) was one of the rabbis of the Western community in Jerusalem in the 19th century. He served as Dayan in the community court and chief rabbi.
He authored the book " Pkudat Elazar" on the Shulchan Aruch, part of Orach Chaim (three parts). Was published after his passing by his students, Rabbi Avraham Avikazir and Rabbi Shmuel Refael Buhbut. The book reinforced, among other things, the customs of the Jews of Morocco, against their appeal. On the other hand, when there were customs that he thought led to the annulment of the laws, they were canceled. At the head of the book is a letter of greeting from Rishon LeZion by Rabbi Raphael Meir Pangejil and from his sister, Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elyashar (to the Rishon LeZion), and praises the author, as well as a eulogy from Rabbi Nachman Betito (later to be the rabbi of the Western community and Rishon Le Zion).
