This medallion bears an original drawing by Mark Shagall, which was specially painted for the purpose of the medallion.
The medallion was issued as a contribution to the housing shortage in Israel and all its income was donated to the project to provide a home for young couples.
Obverse: With Chagall's work and his signature in Hebrew and English, Reverse: With a quote from the prophet Yeshayahu. - I am your God, who is righteous in your righteousness, and I will hold your hands and your strength, and you shall meet the people of the nations of the world. Isaiah 42: 6, in Hebrew and English.
