A HELENISTIC BRONZE WEIGHT
Seleucia Pieria, the port city of Antioch, capital of the Seleucid Empire. 2nd century BCE. Depicting a ship's ram. The Greek inscription reads: ΣEΛEYKEION TETAPTON "Seleukeion the city; Quarter (of a mina)". The back is covered by a net pattern. With very nice green patina. In very good condition and rare. 6.3×6.3 cm. 115 gr. For a similar weight see: J. Paul Getty Museum inv. # 96.AC.143
