Autograph letter to R. Shmuel Landau of Prague, son and successor of the Noda B’Yehuda regarding arrangements for a Shidduch.
R. Nochum Treybisch (1779-1842), was born in Prague and was orphaned at a young age. He studied under R. Yaakov Ginsburg, who entrusted the young R. Nochum with his writings which R. Nochum published under the name “Zerah Yaakov”. A tremendous Talmid Chochom he enjoyed close relationships with R. Eliezer Lowey and R. Bezalel Ranshbourg, and served as the city’s Rosh Yeshiva. In 1826 he left Prague to serve as Rav of Prostitz and in 1831, he succeeded R. Mordechai Banet as Rav of Nikolsburg.
He authored Sefer Ha’Kovetz on the RaMBaM, S’hlom Yerusholayim on the Talmud Yerushalmi as well as halachic responsa.
