Signed letter on rabbinical letterhead dated 1949. Thanking a donor from the United States for a donation given to the Chevron Yeshiva. Expressing his deep concern that authentic Judaism and Yeshivos should flourish in the newly established State of Israel despite opposition and that the mission of the Chevron yeshiva is dedicated towards that goal.
R. Yechezkel Sarna (1890–1969) was the famed Rosh yeshiva of the Chevron Yeshiva. He was among the closest disciples of R. Nosson Tzvi Finkel “the Alter of Slabodka and the son in law of R. M. M. Epstein, Rosh Yeshiva of the Slabodka Yeshiva. He had a leading role in the transfer of the Yeshiva from Europe to Chevron in 1925, and following the Chevron Massacre of 1929, the reestablishment of the Yeshiva in Jerusalem. In 1934 following the passing of his father in law he assumed the position of Rosh yeshiva.
