ר’ יעקב לוין. (סדיגורא). כתב יד חוקת הזבח.

Author’s manuscript on Shulchan Oruch Hilchos Shechita with two commentaries, Beis Yaakov and Ohel Yaakov, with related responsa. Unpublished Halachic manuscript written in the town of Sadigura.
The author R. Yaakov Levin, was a Talmid Chochom and Shochet. He also authored a number of seforim including Yofeh L’Bdikah (Chernowitz 1883), Ayin Ro’eh (Chernowitz 1890), and Chosem Kodesh (Krakow 1892). A small portion of this manuscript was published in Chernowitz (1885) and again in Krakow (1896).
On page 47b, he includes an interesting halachic quotation from his Rebbe, R. Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, son of R. Yisroel of Ruzhin, regarding the importance of shechting whilst wearing a hat in addition to a Yarmulke and regarding the importance of a Shochet immersing in a Mikveh before he shechts.
At the end of the manuscript is a compilation of responsa and correspondence from various Shochtim and Rabbonim regarding Shechita. Included is a Halachic responsum from R. Shneur Zalman of Liadi which the author writes was copied from the original manuscript (and which differs slightly from the one published in Shailos U’Teshuvos Ba’al Ha’Tanya (p 289b). Also included is a Halachic responsum from R. Yosef Shaul Natansohn (Sho’el U’Maishiv) who quotes certain practices in Shechita mandated by R. Naftoli of Ropchitz as well as an interesting occurrence that happened with the Apta Rav at the Ostilla Chasuna.
