Important work on astronomy and geography as well a thesis on the rejection of astrology in Jewish tradition authored by R. Dovid Ganz with numerous astronomical diagrams. With Latin introduction by Christian Hebenstreit, professor of Hebrew in Leipzig University (lacking in many copies).
R. Dovid Ganz (1541-1613) was a student of R. Moshe Isserles (Rema) and the Maharal of Prague. Unusual for his era he was both a Torah Scholar in addition to being proficient in the sciences, and was in contact with the greatest astronomers of his time including Kepler and Tycho Brahe.
