Photo Album - Yom HaAtzmaut Parades and Celebrations During the First Years of the State of Israel

Album with 291 photos from Israel 1951-1960. The photos were taken by a Jewish family and depict the festive atmosphere prevalent during the first years of the State of Israel.

The first and most interesting section of the album documents Yom HaAtzmaut IDF parades and festivities. Includes a few dozens photos of IDF parades on Yom HaAtzmaut 1951-1953 and other photos of folk dances on Yom HaAtzmaut 1958.

The next section includes interesting photos from the filming of "Salome" by William Dieterle in Akko; photos of sites in the Old City of Jerusalem and its environs, taken on Sukkot 1953; photos from the streets of Meah Shearim of that year. The rest of the album features family pictures taken during trips to different cities throughout the country in the 1950s - sukkot in Jerusalem, trips to Eilat, Akko, Bat Galim and more. Each group of pictures has a handwritten caption.

Large impressive leather binding with decorations and a relief of Rachel's Tomb.

Album: 25x38 cm. Average size of the photos: 6x9 cm. The photos are covered with protective tissue paper. Some of this paper is torn.
