Lot of 8 posters, letters, and interesting pages from countries of the Eastern Mediterranean.
1. Poster in Arabic from the Ottoman government to the residents of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. List of neighborhoods, and the order that, in light of changes in government, all residents without exception, from ages 15-60, had to each bring a kg of wheat or flour to collection spots noted in the document, or, alternatively, one Turkish lira. On the left side appear 6 new rules. The month appearing on the poster is Nissan. The year appears according to the Muslim calendar. 2. An additional smaller poster, stamped by the government. Clarification about what people under 15 years of age had to do with regard to the prior-mentioned law. 3. Mi Sheberach for the minister Moses Montefiore. 19th century. 4. 2 interesting letters. Writing in artistic letters, by a craftsman. With acrostics. Sent by the rabbi of Souk el-Khemis (Tunisia) to the Jewish Agency and HaPoelHaMizrahi in 1949-50 (respectively). With stamps “received.” 5. Letter on official letterhead from 1978. Signed by the Gahatz, Rabbi Eliyahu Abuhatriza, rabbi of Nazareth Illit. 6. Poster “Flowers for Shavuot”—a translation to Hebrew by RavGavriel Falk of Amsterdam. To “Achi HaIvrim” by Pinhas M. Greivsky from HaSharon on the border of the Carmel. 7. The Moroccan piyyut “Ashirak’Shirat Moshe” traditionally sung by Moroccan Jews on Shabbat Shira of Beshalach, and on the 7th Day of Pesach, before ShiratHaYam. Printed by D.A. Amar, Casablanca. Different sizes and conditions. Generally very good condition.
