Poster signed by the holy hand of Rabbi ShlomoZalman Ehrenreich hy”d, the LehemShlomo ofŞimleu. Jerusalem, 1939.
Interesting poster in Hebrew and Yiddish, on settling the land of Israel, written by (and hand signed) by the Gaon Rabbi ShlomoZalman Ehrenreich, Av Beit Din of Şimleu. A fiery poster, written from the heart against the Mizrahi and AgudatYisrael movements. Rabbi ShlomoZalman Ehrenreich (1863-1944) was the author of the Shot (Q&A) book LehemShlomo, grandson of the KolAryeh. A gaon of the kabbala and a chassid, a sage of Hungary, a followerof the AdmorKedushat Yom Tov of Sighet and a friend and supporter of his son, the Admor Rabbi Yoel of Satmar. Like him, he strongly opposed Zionism and AgudatYisrael, but at the same time was known for his love of the Land of Israel, and the largest donations from Hungary to the Land of Israel came from his community. Rabbi Shalom Eliezer of Ratzpert said that there was no halakhic respondent like him in his generation. People tried to get him to escape from the ghetto in Şimleu to Romania, but he answered that it was an opportunity to fulfil the mitzvah of Kiddush Hashem (“that not every generation has the opportunity to do”), and he said that he was not authorized to remove himself from the community. He died in Auschwitz-Birkenau together with most of his family. Tears. 20x35cm. Generally ok condition.
