Proclamation of a fast day by World Agudat Yisrael due to "Suffering which has found millions of our brothers in the European countries, and the risk of annihilation which hovers over them." Jerusalem, 1942.
In practice, the call went out after millions of Jews were already murdered by the Nazis in the conquered European countries, but in the Land of Israel, the matter was not yet entirely known and the declaration refers to European Jewry as "the risk of annihilation hovers over them."
