A large wooden case with a sheet of paper glued onto cardboard on which is written Seder Sfirat Ha'Omer: "Le'Shem Yichud", the blessing and the prayers which are said after the counting (La'Menatze'ach, Ana Be'Koach, Ribono shel Olam). Hassidic version.
At the center of the thick paper, there is a window which shows the counting of each day of the Omer, which is written on a long paper rolled on a stick ("Ha'Yom Yom Echad La'Omer") and the Kabbalistic counting ("Malchut She'Ba'Malchut" etc.).
On the lower part of the long roll of paper appears the scribe's signature: "the handiwork of Yosef Yom Tov … Scribe…". At its end: "In memory today the 11th of the month of Adar I have completed".
According to the owner of the case, it used to hang in a synagogue in Romania before the Holocaust [the 1930's]. Undoubtedly, a unique, rare item!
Size of case: 25x49 cm. (Without the wooden addition on top). Depth: 14 cm.
Condition: Good. One of the handles for rolling the paper is missing; yet it can still be rolled. Natural wear. The roll of paper is slightly torn.
