Official Certificate of a Student of the "Knesset Yisrael" Yeshiva in Slabodka – Signatures (Hebrew and English) of the Head of the Yeshiva Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Sher – was Given to One of the First Students of the Yeshiva in Hebron – 1924
An official printed certificate on behalf of the Knesset Yisrael Yeshiva of Skabodka-Kovno. "Hereby confirms that Mr. [Abramowitz Shmuel] … is a student of the"Knesset Yisrael" Yeshiva in Slabodka". Printed version. The details of the student were filled in by hand, Hebrew by English. Stamps in a foreign language.
Signatures (both Hebrew and English)" the head of the Yeshiva, Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Sher and its secretary, Rabbi Ya'akov Shlomo (perished in the Holocaust). The 11th of Tishrei 1924.
The receiver of the certificate, Rabbi Shmuel Abramowit (1902-1957) was born in Bernowitz. He studied at the Slabodka Yeshiva. In 1924, he immigrated to the land of Israel with the first group of students which established the "Knesset Yisrael" Yeshiva in Hebron. After the 1929 Riots, he moved with the remaining students to the "Hebron" Yeshiva in Jerusalem. He served a t he rabbi of the Ramat Yitzchak neighborhood of Ramat Gan. One of his son-in-laws was Rabbi Nachum Kook.
The signatory, Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Sher (1875-1952), the head of the "Knesset Yisrael" Yeshiva of Slabodka, was a disciple and son-in-law of the Alter of Kelm.
An extremely rare certificate!
The certificate is shaped as a folding card. The student's picture is missing.

Condition: Good. Slight tears.
