Important Letter by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalischer about the Printing of His Book 'Drishat Zion' and His Other Compositions / Novellae by One of the Geniuses Rabbis with a Scholarly Comment Handwritten by Rabbi Kalischer
A long letter with important content by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch kalischer, the rabbi of Torun, Poland, who was known as one of the first rabbis who expressed views in favor of the Jewish re-settlement of the Land of Israel.
At the beginning of the letter, Rabbi Kalischer wrote: "a copy of what I have written to the printer in Warsaw. (The original letter, most likely, does not exist. The letter was most likely printed in 'Sinai' and 'Ha'Ketavim Ha'Tziyoniyim' of Rabbi Kalischer. However, it should be noted that in the letter before us, several words were erased while others were added by Rabbi Kalischer). It was sent to philanthropists and rabbis who admired the rabbi and wanted to distribute his book.
The two pages with the "copy of the letter" are numbered as leaf 9. Attached to it is a leaf numbered as 10, which contains two pages on which a genius unknown rabbi wrote Torah Novellae on the Talmud and the Rambam. To the best of our knowledge, the novellae has never been printed.
On the margins of the last leaf, a long scholarly gloss most likely handwritten by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalischer.
Condition: Good. A dampness stain that does not damage the text.
