A booklet published by the United Kibbutz Movement - Culture Committee, the General Federation of Hebrew Workers in the Land of Israel. Edited by Yehuda Shertock [Sharett]. 1938. Illustrations in the style of woodcutting by Aharon Giladi.

As written in the foreword, the background for the booklet was a gathering of school children in Meshek Yagur held on the Shabbat Nachamu following Tisha B'Av during the  Arab Revolt of 1936. It was meant to deepen the children's connection to the murder and loss around them by recalling times of suffering in the nation's early history in the language of the Bible. Therefore, verses of this type were compiled to be read with music notes. Over time, these excerpts were also used by the Kibbutz's graduates. The collection was played on various occasions at the laying of the cornerstone of the first house in the naval department of the United Kibbutz Movement in Haifa Bay, at the first gathering after continual days of suffering in Kibbutz Yagur on Succot 1937, and on the thirtieth day from the death of M. Belinson at a memorial ceremony at Givat HaShlosha from the active committee of the Federation and more. The forewords of the booklets have performance instructions which include narration, choral singing, incorporating the excerpts and more.
