Siddur Har Zion. Includes the prayers for all year (the days of the week, Sabbaths, Shelosha Regalim and the High Holidays). Ashkenazic version. Published by Zwebner and his partners Michlin and Natansohn. Jerusalem 1901. Frumkin printing press. On the title page, the verse "U'Ve'Har Zion Tihiyeh Pletah Ve'Haya Kodesh" is printed.
An extremely rare Siddur! Is not listed by the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book! Does not appear in the National Library and in libraries in Israel!
The partners Michlin and Natansohn, important activists of Jerusalem, printed only three books in the years 1900-1901: a Book of Psalms, the 'Marom Zion' Siddur (standard size) and finally, the special miniature Siddur before us. The three books are extremely rare. Two of them were listed by the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book according to a private collection. However, the Siddur before us, as said, was not listed.
David Tidhar notes that the Siddur before us "was considered a novelty in Jerusalem" due to its miniature size. This is one of the first miniature Siddurim that were printed then in Israel!
320 leaves.
Size: 7.5 cm.
Condition: Good. Red original binding with an engraving of the "Western Wall". On the spine, an engraved Hebrew inscription: "Siddur Har Zion". The leaves are nicely framed. Detached title page. Loose spine.
