The book 'Sha'ar Ha'Melech' on Maimonides. Three sections. By Rabbi Yitzchak Nunez Belmonte. With Ta'am Ha'Melech by Rabbi Baruch Jeitteles the physician of Prague. Brünn, [1801-1803]. Second edition of Sha'ar HaMelech and first edition of Ta'am HaMelech. Approbation by Rabbi Mordechai Bennet abd Rabbi Elazar Killer. Title page in red ink.
Ancient rabbinical signatures on the title page. On the binding, a golden impression: "Yerachmiel Eli' Botschko".
On the Forsazt leaves, a nice deciation (from 1929) by the "faithful students" of Rabbi Botschko and signatures of eight of them, "the students of the fourth class of the 'Etz Chaim' Yeshiva".
Rabbi Yerachmiel Eliyahu Botschko studied at the Lomzhe Yeshiva and after a short while moved to study at the Novhardok Yeshiva with the Alter of Novhardok for 11 years. In 1927, he founded the 'Etz Chaim' yeshiva in Montreux and taught hundreds of its students Torah. During the Holocaust, he acted to save Jews. He visited the Land of Israel several times. He was a member of Agudat Yisrael.
