Rabbi Getshelik Elyakim Schlesinger (1813-1900) was a disciple of Rabbi Yosef Etlinger author of "Aroch La'ner" and of Rabbi Leib Bodenheimer of Karlsruhe. In 1836, when the Aroch La'ner was appointed the rabbi of Altona, he took his disciple Rabbi Elyakim with him to found a yeshiva and he served as its head.
