Letter by the Ma'arv Rabbis of Jerusalem to Rabbi Yehoshua Korkos – with the Signature of the Rosh Av Beit Din Rabbi Nachman Batito and Additional Rabbis
Letter by te Ma'arav rabbis of Jerusalem to Rabbi Yehoshua Krkos asking him to assist the emissary Rabbi Yeshua Peretz in raising funds for the cemetery of the Ma'arvim community and for the needy. Not dated.
At the end of the letter, the signatures of the most prominent Ma'arv rabbis of Jerusalem: a curly signature of the Rosh Av Beit Din Rabbi Nachman Batito with his stamp, the signature of Rabbi Ahmuel Buchbut and his stamp, the signatures of Rabbi Machluf Chazan and Rabbi Yosef Elmaliach.
Rabbi Nachaman Batito (1847-1915) served as the Rishon Le'Zion and one of the leader sof the Ma'aravim community of Jerusalem. He published together with Rabbi Chizkiya Shabtai the book of Exodus 'Me'Am Lo'ez' in Ladino.
The complete letter was written by a scribe on the official stationery of "Va'ad Nivchar Ve'Nimusi Me'Adat Ha'Ma'aravim Yerushalayim".
