A draft of a Yiddish letter written by the Rebbetzen Bashe, the wife of the Chazon Ish. On the reverse side of the leaf, three names for prayer handwritten by the Chazon Ish.
The Rebbetzen Bashe was well-known for her devotion to the livelihood of her home so that her husband, the Chazon Ish, will be able to study Torah. For this purpose, she owned a haberdashery. On the draft of the letter before us there is a short list of items she needs to buy and more. The letter indicates her wisdom and wit.
A single leaf. 10x30 cm.
