Medal in Honor of the Launching of a Research Satellite. Israel, 1962. Rare
Silver medal, 325, for official presentation, not for sale. Israel, 1962. Diameter 59 mm. 118 grams. A globe, with a satellite sent by Israel to outer space and a Hebrew verse. The reverse features the country's emblem and a space for the name of the person who received the medal. Signature of Prime Minister David ben Gurion on the bottom. Only 560 medals were issued. Very fine condition. Numismatica 19, p. 224.
