Signed letter on rabbinical letterhead dated 1933, written as a certification that a local husband has divorced his wife in accordance with Torah law and is thus now able to remarry.
R. Avrohom Tzvi Hirsch Kamai (1860-1941) was a son and disciple of R. Elya Boruch Kamai whom he succeeded as Rav and Rosh Yeshiva of Mir. Known as an outstanding Talmid Chochom as well as a great Posek he was revered as one of the preeminent rabbinical leaders in prewar Lithuania. Following the passing of the Chofetz Chaim in 1933, R. Chaim Ozer Grodzinski turned to him for guidance. Tragically murdered during the Holocaust together with the members of his community whom he led until their very last moments.
