Complete set of Talmud published with the assistance of the American Army and “The Joint” by the Agudas Ha’Rabonim in the American Zone of Post War Germany. Religious survivors of German atrocities, were anxious to reestablish their regular Torah learning, despite their horrific circumstances. Recognizing this vital need, the U.S military made an unprecedented decision to produce a high quality complete set of Talmud.
Illustrated Yellow title page with illustrations of the extermination camps as well as depictions of the Holy Land and Jerusalem.
An important expression of the Jewish people’s eternal bond with the Talmud even in the most distressing of times.
As in all sets, first four volumes dry paper, other volumes generally quality paper, partially dry paper. Previous owner’s stamps. Some wear, some pages slightly torn, no loss of text. Original bindings, some reinforced. 39.5 cm.
