Two pocket calendars in parchment bindings.
1. Calendar for 1842 edited by R' Yisrael G"B, at the press of Dovid ben Yaakov Proops. Amsterdam. Important calendar with many supplements: The names of those appointed over Jewish affairs for this government; the names of those who send fees from other countries and their professions, the names of the geonim, trustees and leaders, and more. Hebrew and Yiddish. 52 leaves. 10 cm. Leather binding made as a sheath.
2. Calendar for 1851, edited by Yisrael Falk, at the press of the widow of Dovid Proops, Amsterdam. Important calendar with many supplements; names of the dayanim in the Ashkenazic community; parnessim and leaders, those appointed over the room of the poor Jewish youth in Amsterdam, and the names of the leaders of the brit and meals afterbirth, historic dates including interesting notes, such as: 512 since the composition of the four Turim, 377 since the invention of the printing press, 256 since the arrival of the Sephardim in Amsterdam, 180 since the construction of the Sephardic synagogue, and more. Hebrew and Yiddish. 52 [12] pages. 10 cm. Leather binding made as a sheath. Many tears on the title page, with significant blemish to the text. The other leaves are in fine condition.
Both calendars are rare and not in the National Library.
