Death announcement in memory of Shlomo Chaimson after died in an escape attempt from the Cyprus internment camp
A declaration of mourning published in Eretz Yisrael immediately after the death of Shlomo Chaimson.
Stencil print with decorative print. "On the 25th of Elul, 1948, Shlomo Chaimson was killed by a British soldier when he tried to escape the Cyprus internment camp." This notice was apparently printed in Palestine, shortly after his death.
"Shlomo Chaimson, member of the Shomer HaTzair, was shot and killed on the night of the 29th of September, 1948, as he escaped the internment camp." Includes the text: "The exiles of Cyprus are groaning in the internment camps, and their eyes look to the distance but there is no salvation or deliverance....in his aim to reach Palestine, Chaimson was killled. The bullet of the murderers detached the wick of his young life...."
Not in the National Library.
[1] leaf, 21x31 cm.
