On the reverse side of leaf, the author's preface was printed, who writes about the book that "within it a person can find guidance on how to overcome the evil inclination and worship God…"
Rabbi Asher Zvi of Ostroh (1740-1816) was one of the disciples of the Maggid of Mezeritch, a holy man, Hassid and kabbalist. He served as a Maggid in Ostroh and was known as one of the most prominent Rebbes of his generation. His approbations decorate many Hassidic and Kabbalist books from the years 1780-1790. In 1804 he moved to Korzec where he served as a Rebbe and rabbi.
