Manuscript of "Zerah Ha'Shalom" with novellae on the Baba Metzi'ah tractate and a few novellae on the Chulin tractate, handwritten by Rabbi Shalom Ha'Cohen of Djerba.
Manuscript with nice, illustrated title page.
On the title page, several ownership signatures: Rabbi Atun Tzeida, Rabbi Chanya Bonan, Rabbi Ma'atuk Cohen.
The manuscript is an autograph of Rabbi Shalom Ha'Cohen of Djerba. The novealle was written with different quill pens (black, blue and red) and they change in succession.
Rabbi Shalom Ha'Cohen's signature is in red ink and the novellea written between the pages is written with the same pen.
The manuscript has not been printed.
Rabbi Shalom Ha'Cohen (1835-1926) a rabbi, Dayan and Moreh Tezdek, a gifted exegesist and miracle-maker, and great Torah scholar. The grandson of the chief rabbi of Djerba, Rabbi Shaul Ha'Cohen, author of "Lechem Bikurim". His son was Rosh Av Beit Din of Djerba, Rabbi Chalfon Moshe Ha'Cohen, author of the "Sho'el Ve'Nishal" responsa.
At first, he refused to be a rabbi and worked as a merchant. However, when he became impoverished, he accepted the position of rabbi of Zarzis. In 1924, he immigrated to the Land of Israel to join the rabbis of Tiberius. His compositions: "Chefetz Yakar" - on the 613 Mitzvot, "Sha'arei Shalom" - Dinim and commentary on the Torah, "Nahar Shaom" - on the Torah, "Chaim Ve'Shalom" - on the Midot, "Beracha Ve'Shalom" - Midot and Hanhagot, "Brit Shalom" - Dinim ordered according to the Shulchan Aruch and Mussar, "Tzedaka Ve'Shalom" - novellae on the Torah and the Zohar.
97 leaves, of the, 64 written leaves, most of the m on both sides. 20 cm.
At the middle of the manuscript, three written leaves - novellae on th eKiddushin tractate, handwritten by Rabbi Ya'akov Carmy of Djerba in blue pen. With an inscription and his signature.
Condition: Good. Original binding.
