Manuscript of the Book "Chochma Va'Da'at", which contains three hundred ninety eight articles of Mussar to encourage God worship, ordered according to the days of the month, to be taught daily.
The articles are alphabetically numbered at the margins of the leaves.
The book has no title page or preface. Its author is Rabbi Simchon Chalava, one of the rabbis of Algiers, author of the book "Tzav le'Tzav" (his last will and testament to his sons and future generations). The book was printed in Jerusalem in 1904 after its author's death. At the beginning of the book, a letter of praise by the Rishon Le'Zion the "Yissah Beracha".
The author's identity was discovered by the "ahavat Shalom" company which printed an edition of the book in Jerusalem in 2003, according to another manuscript which belonged to the eldest of the kabbalists, Rabbi Yitzchak Kaduri, who had ordered when he was still alive tp print and publish the book.
The manuscript before us is most likely an early copying of the book. There are several corrections and erasures as well as changes between what was printed and the manuscript regarding the day of the month the passages belong to. For example, according to the manuscript, several passages belonge to the first day of the month while according to what was printed, they belong to the second day of the month.
65 leaves written on both sides. On each page, approximately 31-35 lines. 11x18.5 cm.
