A large manuscript that contains hundreds of Piyutim by the rabbis of Aleppo, ordered according to the Arabic maqam. The middle of the 19th century. At the beginning of the manuscript, indices of some of the Piyutim.
Ownership signatures of "… Suleiman Ma'atuk Picciotto …S.T". the Picciotto family was an honorable family of rabbis and rich men from Aleppo.
246 leaves most of them written on both sides. 19.8 cm.
Soletreo and Rashi script in the style of Aleppo. Captions and main words in square script. Often, stylish letters. An illustration on one of the leaves. Several white empty leaves between the maqams. The collection was most likely written by two writers.
Condition: Very Good. Single leaves are damaged with omission. Original ancient binding. Thick, high-quality leaves.
