Manuscript - the book Shechitot U'Bdikot by Rabbi Yisrael David Luzzatto. Mantova, [1804-1806].
A summary of the laws of Shechita and Treifot, Hebrew and Italian, with colorful illustrations for an anatomic demonstration of the inner organs of the animal (lung, heart, liver etc.) and the types of Treifot. Demonstration of different colors in the laws of "Nishtanta Marito" and additional colorful decorations.
The composition is read from left to right.
At the end of the composition, a colophon: "This is the handiwork of Yisrael David Luzzatto… 1804". On the next page, a copying of the Semicha for Shechita that the author, Rabbi Yisrael David Luzzatto, had received by Rabbi Azriel Yitzchak ben Moshe Chaim Levi and three other rabbis of Mantova: Rabbi Matzliach Moshe Irani, Rabbi Shmuel Chaim Sinigaliya and Rabbi Yechiel Menachem Urbino. The date of this item is 1806.
