Before us is a manuscript by Rabbi Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Blinfenti, which was unknown and has never been printed! Historical discovery!
A historical unit that was translated and adapted from several early books. This manuscript is the masterpiece of the author's historical writings. It is most likely that purpose of the composition was to encourage the converso to return to Judaism.
This composition has never been printed!

The chapters of the book
After the title page, a poetic preface by the author describing his composition and noting his variegated sources. At the beginning of the book, "a wonderful poem" by the author on his book.
The first twelve chapters: the history of the most prominent rabbis and their expulsion from Spain. In addition, "Chayei Yitzchak" (with a separate title page) - a chapter that includes the history of Rabbi Yitzchak Abravanel and his compositions as well as other important descriptions.
Chapter 13: "The story of the people of the countries and their virtues".
Chapter 14: a detailed description of the shape of the Temple according to Maimonides and of the Temple of Herod.
Chapter 15: the story of the copying of the Torah by King Ptolemy.
Chapter 16: the order of the presidents of the house of David.
Chapter 17: the story of Judith (Hanukkah), the scroll of Antiochus, the story of Rabbi Bustenai and other stories.
Chapter 18: the biography of Rabbi Menachem Ben and his saving during the expulsion from Spain.

The author
Rabbi Yitzchak ben Eliyahu Chizkiyahu Ha'Cohen Blinfenti, a rabbi, author and poet, sermonizer at the great synagogue of Amsterdam.
Authored many books and essays. Among others, he wrote a preface and poem for the book "Chochmat Shlomo" with the commentary of Rabbi Naftali Hirz Wessely. Authored many sermons and poems that remained in manuscript.
The first poems written by Rabbi Blinfenti, and which made him well-known in the field of poetry, were printed in the book "Divrei David" by Rabbi David Meldola (Amsterdam, 1753). The poems praise Rabbi Meldola's book.

Rabbi David Meldola and his relationship with Rabbi Yitzchak Ha'Cohen Blinfenti
On leaf [23A] a handwritten gloss by Rabbi David Meldola and his signature in initials: "A.D.M [Ani David Meldola] S.T". This is how he signed his name in the book "Sama De'Chayei" by Rabbi Chaim Ya'akov and in other places.
Rabbi David Meldola (1703-1793), a rabbi of Amsterdam. When he was young, he was praised by the most prominent rabbis of his generation. Among his compositions: "Darkei David", "Michtam Le'David" and many more.
Rabbi David Meldola described Rabbi Yitzchak Blinfenti as "knowledgeable of grammar as the Radak and of poetry as Ben Ezra".
Square Sephardic script. 139 leaves. 17 cm. Ancient parchment binding from the time of writing.
Condition: Very Good. Thick, bright, high-quality leaves. Time stains. The parchment binding is soft and detached. Wear.
