The “Tiferet Zion” yeshiva was founded in November 1935, at the initiative of the Chazon Ish. It began with only seven students. By the end of that first winter it numbered thirty students. Among the original students were the Chazon Ish’s nephews: Rabbi Chaim Greinman, Rabbi Nissim Karelitz and Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky (who is currently president of the yeshiva). Many of the yeshiva’s alumni became the great Torah leaders of the previous generation.

Before us is the yeshiva’s account book from the years 1944-1947. The Chazon Ish is mentioned several times in the ledger, in addition to pages for donations transferred by Rebbetzin Greinman (his sister), Rebbetzin Meidusar, Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer (a donation he transferred from Rabbi Yosef Eliyahu Henkin in New York), the Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Yair Weinstock (a donation he transferred from the Rebbe of Ozharov) and more. On the one of the leaves is a list of “Bowls from the Eve of Yom Kippur 1943” - synagogues in which donations for the yeshiva were collected.

Approximately 100 leaves.
Condition: Good. Moth signs. Wear.
