Year-Round Machzor - Minhag Ashkenaz. Prague, 1613

Two parts , year-round Machzor according to Ashkenazic tradition, with many new additions . Both parts are with original title pages.
Machzorim printed in Prague were popular and extensively used. Very few copies of this Machzor survived.

The National Library in Jerusalem has single damaged copy. The present copy is completely intact excluding one page that was restored via photocopy. To the best of our knowledge it is exceedingly rare to find a Prague Machzor in similar condition.
Several versions of the Machzor were printed in the early 17th century, yet the Ashkenaz Machzor is the rarest among them (Not listed in Winograd’s Bibliography of Hebrew Books).

Aside from its significance due to its nusach and commentary, the Prague Machzor is unique in its beautiful, high-quality printing. It features artistic title pages, frames, titles and initials crafted of impressive woodcuts, illustrations of the constellations in Tefillas Geshem, and decorative titles in dark ink.

The sides of the page feature fundamental commentary on the piyyutim according to the Lublin Machzor (1567, 1578). This commentary was expanded in the Prague edition and from then on in many subsequent editions.
