Two booklets of Verein Judisches Museum E.V zu BRESLAU, a member of the friends of the Jewish Museum of Breslau 1928-1929, including facsimiles of religious books and Judaica. German. Rare!
The Jewish Museum of Breslau was part of a larger project of Jewish museums in Germany. Th emost important objective of the project was to preserve the cultural heritage of the Jewish nation as well as study the history of the Jews of Silesia.
The first exhibition of the museum opened on February 3 1929.
The exhibitions of the museum were divided into three: an exhibition of documents and illustrations of the history of the Jews of Silesia during the years 1050-1850; an exhibition of Judaica from various synagogues in Silesia and an exhibition of manuscripts, ancient books and laters printings, portraits and Ketubot.

Before us are two booklets related to this exhibition:
A. A booklet printed in 1928. Among its subjects: "ֳ‚ֲ…ancient Haggadot ֳ‚ֲ… the establishment of the Jewish museum ֳ‚ֲ… how to bring children closer to the Jewish religion and culture ֳ‚ֲ…"
The booklet contains 4 facsimiles (Kiddush cup, spice container, parochet and title page sof ancient books).

Separate leaves are added: questionnaire for potential donators/ borrowers of items of the museum and a list of the museum's friends including the sums thay had donated.
B. A booklet printed in 1929. Its subject: "Synagogues in Silesia": synagogues that had been built on the ruins of ancient synagogues. Includes 9 photographs and sketches of synagogues.
Rare booklet that does not appear in the National Library!

Separate leaves are added: a list of the museum's friends including the sums thay had donated, the museum's annual report and a letter to the museum's friends from 12.10.1929.
Condition: Both booklets are in good condition.
C. Microcard catalogue of the rare Hebrew codices, manuscripts and ancient prints in the Kaufmann collection, reproduced on microcards. Published by the Hungarian Academy for Sciences, Budapest, 1959. German and Hebrew.
The catalog is presented with the explanations of Ignac Goldziher (1850-1921), a Jewish-Hungarian researcher of the Islam in Europe.
The catalog presents 938 items.
