Mishneh Torah of the Rambam - Berdichev, 1808 (?) - Glosses in the Handwriting of the Hassidim of Reisen and Slonim in Tiberius
Mishne Torah Le'Ha'Rambam, printed in the 1740's (the title page is missing). Most likely, the Berdichev edition of 1808 or 1818 (Reb Yisrael Bak Printing Press). Ancient stamps: "The stamp of the synagogue of the Reisen Kollel in the holy city of Tiberius".
Throughout the book, about ten glosses (lingual corrections, some of several words) and two scholarly glosses in ancient script.
Ancient inscription: "This is the donation of Reb Mordechai ben Rabbi Nathan Neta to the synagogue of the Slonim Kollel".
The rebbes of Slonim served as presidents of the "Reisen Kollel", which was founded when Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Vitebsk and Rabbi Avraham of Kalisk immigrated to the Land of Israel. Rabbi Avraham of Slonim, author of "Yesod Ha'Avoda" sent young Avrechim to Tiberius to study Torah for a stipend from the Reisin Kollel.
The synagogue of the Reisen Hassidim was founded in 1833 and was destroyed in the earthquake of 1837. Later, the Reisin Hassidim rebuilt it.

The identity of the writers of the glosses has not been studied. However, they are most likely, the most prominent Hassidim of Tiberius, whose history is told in the book "Yesod Ha'Ma'ala" by Rabbi Aharon Sorsky (added is material with facsimiles of their handwriting).
Extremely rare item!
Condition: Good. Few moth signs on single leaves. Tears due to use. Bluish paper. The title page and the seven last leaves are missing.
