At the beginning of the book is an impressive illustration of the tomb of the prophet Samuel. At the end of the book is an illustration of the tomb of the matriarch Rachel.
In the book are matters of mussar and encouragement on the topic of honoring the Torah and its students, and the great punishment for those whose disgrace it.
The author Rabbi Yaakov was a disciple of Rabbi David ben Shimon the "Tzuf Dvash", the great Rabbi of the Oriental community of Jerusalem. Died before 1886.

Condition: Very Good. Original pleasant binding, slightly damaged. Slight tears in the margins of a number of leaves.
