Religious Composition Handwritten by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Weisfish - Handwritten Glosses by his Friend, the Editor Rabbi Ya'akov Moshe Harlap / Religious Manuscripts by Rabbi Ya'akov Moshe Harlap
Composition on Hafrashat Terumot Ve'Ma'asrot handwritten by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Weisfish.
On the margins, long scholarly glosses handwritten by Rabbi Ya;akov Moshe Harlap. In some of the glosses, he disagrees with the author while in others, he praises his novellae. One of the glosses begins with the words: "a wonderful novellae … and see tzitz Ha'Kodesh [the book of their teacher and rabbi, Rabbi Zvi Michel Shapira]…"
The date is unnoted. It is assumed that it was written during the years 1890-1900.

Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Weisfish, the disciple and right-hand person of Rabbi Zvi Mishel Shapira and the grandson of Rabbi Nachum of Szadek. A disciple of his uncle, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Baharan, and who prepared for printing his writings and those of Rabbi Nachum of Szadek. He was known for his fasting, prayers and diligent study of the Torah. One of his closest friends, who also studied with Rabbi Zvi Michel Shapira, was Rabbi Ya'akov Moshe harlap.

The composition itself was printed in the book "Min Ha'Genazim" (2015), most likely for another copying of the composition. The glosses of Rabbi Harlap have never been printed!

30 pp.
Condition: Good.

Added are religious manuscripts by Rabbi Ya'akov Moshe Harlap (his father, Rabbi Zevulun Harlap, studied at the yeshiva of Rabbi Nachum of Szadek. Rabbi Harlap was very close to Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Baharan and his nephew Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Weisfish),
A. Handwritten letter (most likely to Rabbi Weisfish), Pipul on Hilchot Chametz. 4 pp. tears and omissions. The end of the letter is missing.
B. Pilpul on Hilchot Kiddushin. Several lines are missing due to a tear. On the margins of the page, a handwritten gloss by another Torah scholar. On the reverse side of the leaf, an interesting letter by Reb Shimon Rokeach of Jaffa to Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Baharan, 1898.
