Fascinating piece - typewriter belonging to the famous and award winning author, playwright and novelist, Yaakov Shabtai, z"l. Not just an incredibly beautiful retro piece to display, but this typewriter is one with a fascinating and rich history.
Yaakov Shabtai (1934-1981) wrote what is considered the first novel in purely vernacular Hebrew, Zikhron Devarim (1977) (also known as Past Continuous in English). It was written as one continuous 280-page paragraph and is considered an extraordinary and modern piece of Hebrew literature.
