A letter in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov Weiss author of "Minchat Yitzchak" to Rabbi Yehuda Leib Frank in Jerusalem. The content of the letter is a short responsa about the laws of charity. The letter is on official paper from the period when he served as Av Beit Din of Manchester and its environs, 1970, prior to his immigration to Israel. Rare.
Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov Weiss (1902-1989) immigrated to Israel in 1970 at the request of the Rebbe Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum. At first he served as the deputy of the Av Beit Din Rabbi David Jungreis, and with his death in 1972 succeeded him as the Av Beit Din and as the leader of the Eida Chareidit.
The righteous man Rabbi Yehuda Leib Frank, one of the elders of the Breslov Chassidut in Jerusalem, an important Mohel who circumcised thousands of babies. After his death those close to him related that he came to every circumcision full of closeness to G-d, and that he treated every circumcision as if it was the first he had ever performed. His prayers would split the Heavens.
