Rabbi Yitzchak Parchi, "The Jerusalemite Maggid" (1782-1853), was born in Safed. Following his father's death, he immigrated to Jerusalem and was close to the famous Rabbi Yom Tov Elgazi. He studied under many of the most prominent Chasidim in the Kabbalists' Study Hall "Beit El". Went as an emissary to various countries three times in his life, in each place he reached he delivered his fiery sermons. These sermons were printed in his many books which are full of Mussar, fear of G-d and knowledge of G-d: "Matok L'Nefesh", "Zchut HaRabbim", "Marpeh La'Etzem", "Shevet Mishor", "Tzuf Devash", "Matok Midvash", "Tuv Yerushalayim", "Imrei Noam".
